The Cimarron Country
The Quarter Circle HM Ranch is located in Southwestern Colorado high on the Cimarron Ridge. Many pilgrims ask where the Cimarron country gets its name, Legend has it that a couple flat land cowpokes stopped along the trail to cook some beans. After several hours of cooking in the high altitude the beans were still hard. Discouraged they left the beans to “simmer on.” This area has also provided the back drop to many western movies. True Grit and Paint Your Wagon are a few such movies that found the Cimarron country the best suited for filming.

Day at the Ranch
Wake each morning to the rich aroma of bacon and eggs, flapjacks, and a big cup of “Cowboy Coffee." You won't go hungry here! All meals are served family style, all you can eat. Miss a meal and the days invigorating activities will leave "your belly button rubbing sores on you backbone". Each day provides you with a new and exciting experience. Ride the secluded trails of the ranch or the thousands of acres of adjoining public land. Fly fish a large private lake for trout reaching five plus pounds. Bing your own gear or we can outfit you. Instruction is also available. Hike the many trails. Pan for gold in a mountain stream. Or just kick back and relax. Evenings bring the best western cuisine in the Rockies, with sunsets that no artist could duplicate. Each day ends next the sparkling glow of a campfire under a cover of stars reminiscing about the days adventures.

100 head you will certainly find a mount to fall in
love with. Horses are matched to the rider’s
experience. You won’t be stuck on some old nag that
doesn’t go. Most returning guests can't wait to see
and get acquainted again with their old friends.

Find yourself hidden on the edge of the majestic San
Juan's, with breathtaking vistas reaching across to
Dallas Divide and beyond. View the ever present
wildlife. Wake up and have breakfast with one of the
neighboring mule deer, sneak down to the lake and
catch a rising rainbow trout. Slow down and take a
step back in time to a slower pace world. Put your
feet up on the deck and enjoy the views. Enjoy the
solitude away for the hustle and bustle. Although
less than an hour from town, you can find complete
seclusion, except for the abundant wildlife and herd
of horses that call this ranch home.
